Hanukkah
We have to put Jack down Monday.   It's really sad... I mean we've just known her for about a half a year.  Her limp nodes are really inflamed, like the size of two golf balls.  The vet said it's a really bad kind of cancer and usually they would cut them out but she's an old lady cat already with a bunch of other health problems that she probably wouldn't survive the operation.  She has kitty HIV and her mouth is so rotted the vet told us that it was one of the worse they had ever seen.  She's 16, almost 17, she's had an amazing life I'm sure.
For those of you reading who don't really know the situation, David moved into a two bedroom apartment at the end of last fall.  He moved in with three female cats: Jack, Bluma, and Luccia.  The cats owners, JT and Noelle, live this crazy double life working out in California for a fashion company but have this quaint little apartment down a private road and three old lady cats.  The deal was David would pay $600 for rent and free utilities to take care of the cats.
Taking care of the cats has been pretty easy but lately it's been really stressful.  For the last three nights Jack has been waking us up at 4AM wanting to go out (she's an indoor cat).  We're afraid if we let her out she won't come back.  She will howl and howl at night begging to go out and it's really sad to hear this poor dying cat suffer.
Noelle, the mama owner, is flying home Sunday night to take care of this 'final business.'
It's going to be weird now.. only just two cats?  =/ And Jack was always my favorite.. poor girl... She will definitely be missed.
