Really.
Scenario: sitting up in my room wearing an over sized turquoise sweatshirt and black valor pants embroidering onto an old washcloth.
I've been feeling STRONGLY like I need a creative outlet lately. In general, I like to paint and do other little art projects like collages and such. I also like to sew. When I was in middle school I used to make my own little purses. I also like making jewelry using hemp, beads, crystals, wires... whatever is on hand really. I absolutely love beads. I wish there was a bead shop in town. Besides that there's the dulcimer which I want to learn how to play but need a teacher (or David not to be so busy to teach me the basics).
After searching around etsy I finally decided (and got inspired) what I would do as a new creative outlet:::::: Embroidery!
I recently bought a bunch of different colors of threads, special embroidery needles, and an embroidery hoop. It was all so inexpensive too.
I have a bunch of different ideas... I want to get felt eventually and make cute little embroidery pins and magnets.
Today I made my first attempt at real embroidery - a banana on an old white washcloth.
I could fill it in with yellow and little spots but I think I like the simplicity of it. I like it how it kind of looks like a smile. Anyway! I think it came out cute. I'm excited to do more! I have a bunch of ideas on what to embroider... birds, curvy women, vaginas, cute little sayings, FOOD in general, maybe a watermelon or a strawberry. . other animals... such as a pig, owl, deer, maybe. I have a lot of ideas.
What do you guys think of my banana? Could you tell it was a banana?
:D :D :D :D :D :D This feels good.
