I had an India dream last night. I haven't had one of those in a while. It was strange. My mother took me there last minute. We went to Hawaii first where there were coconuts everywhere. She disappeared in Hawaii and somehow I found my way back home to get ready for India. I didn't pack correctly and finally when we got to India I had none of my India books or none of the right clothes.
But I was there! It was like a dream come true. Since I didn't have any of my tourist books all I remember saying to my mom was, "Taj Mahal, I want to go there!" I remember when we arrived, I saw a young Indian woman get one of her toes painted in white paint. So I wanted it. I got my big left two (I think) painted in white. The man didn't charge me. The paint faded after a few hours of walking around the dirty streets. Once we ran out of water and food, we had to find somewhere that had water. I remember I had one of those fancy water bottles that purifies water right in the bottle so I wasn't too concerned with the purity of the water.
I remember the flowers in the street, the colors, the subway, the people, the beggers, the kindness, the beauty.
Oh, India darling I'm still dreaming of you.
